About

I’m Grant.

Soccer Fan. Youth Soccer Coach. Youth Soccer Club Administrator. Painter of Soccer Field Lines. Soccer Club Fundraiser. You get the idea.

I’m from and live in eastern Ohio, which isn’t exactly a hub of soccer. I grew up knowing soccer existed and played just a little bit as a child, but there weren’t enough kids to keep the program going, plus it wasn’t a high school sport where I lived, so that was that. Through college and early adulthood, I would tune into the occasional match or catch some World Cup games but by no means would be considered a fan. Then as my kids entered our youth soccer club, I began to help out (mostly because I’m incapable of sitting still) and found that whether I was watching a bunch of little goobers running around chasing a ball or then regularly tuning into games at the professional level, soccer really is “the beautiful game”.

Think of me as the guy on your kid’s soccer parent’s sideline who you’d ask a question about the rules or something that just happened in a game. I didn’t play the game myself at a high level, but I’m able to translate the game into something that a Grandma sitting on the sidelines can understand.
